The Kansas City Chiefs waived veteran running back Keaontay Ingram on Thursday, May 15.

Ingram initially signed with Kansas City's practice squad in 2023 and earned a ring with the Chiefs as a member of the team's Super Bowl LVIII roster.

He briefly joined Kansas City's 53-man roster last season on September 18, but the Chiefs waived and later re-signed him to their practice squad on September 26.

As a collegian, Ingram put together an impressive resume between tenures at the University of Texas and the University of Southern California. In four years, Ingram rushed for 2,722 yards and 16 touchdowns on 495 attempts, and tallied 671 yards and 11 touchdowns as a receiver.

Though Ingram wasn't expected to compete for a starting spot for Kansas City next season, the Chiefs have had their depth at the running back position tested in the past, and may be keen to keep him on their radar if injuries affect their rushers in 2025.
