Maybe but Nix is still just in a second year and a lot of quarterbacks regress. Their overall offensive weapons don’t look like anything special to me. Yeah their defense is tits, but is that enough? I’m not anointing them just yet.
Chiefs have regressed. Mahomes has zero weapons outside an aging Kelley and a 30 year old back...and their defense is one or two injuries away from being the 2024 Cardinals.
Broncos are well coached by an offensive coach...having the strong defense just means he can let his DC handle it and put his energy into maximizing what they have on offense.
Chargers are solid all the way around...all three phases...and we'll coached... I just don't think they have it in them yet to make a run. But with Harbaugh you never know.
Raiders got Pete. An All Pro TE...and an awesome rookie back...and Maxx Crosby...that will win you a few games...but the best they can hope for is to be the ******** that block somebody else from making the wildcard...I'm guessing 7 wins
Add all that up and Denver is the only squad in the division with a mix of star power, untapped youth, strong coaching, and a top 5 defense... they will win the AFCWest unless KC makes a trade for someone like Jordan Addison or something...anyone who can replace Hollywood Browns drops with catches.
But even then...KC doesn't have the defense to carry an offense that doesn't put up 30 points every week...they have a crap ton of work to do if they want the Reid/Mahomes Dynasty to continue....with the division adding Harbaugh, Payton, and Carroll in the past couple years the easy ride to a division title is over.
The AFCWest rivals the NFCWest for coaching power...it's just that ours are the young guys and they have the old guys.
