You wouldn’t trade a 500 yard receiver for a 3rd? Maybe it’s just me, but that’s a weird take.
Maybe. I might be more of a gambler than some. I just think the potential payout of having him play out his contract has the potential of a greater return than a 3rd round pick. It's a new staff. It's a new system. It is game 2. If something happened to Wilson or McBride, that would elevate MHJs role and maybe sparks a fire. We will likely have a young QB who will need all of the help he can get. I'm just not interested with throwing away two years of a young talent at a premium position for magic beans. I just view a player who fills a starting role at WR is valuable even if the system puts that role as the 3rd or 4th option in the passing game.

I mean, I think those names might play a role in how many targets a team is willing to allot to them.

Not really. Your 1 and 2 WR are your 1 and 2 WR. And one of ours just got a $25m extension.

But if you want to be picky let's say the Jets

AD Mitchell 12/6 63 Yards
Garrett Wilson 7/5 57 Yards and 1 TD

Or a team with a good TE, let's say Dalton Kincaid who currently leads the league. Bills vs Lions. Kincaid led with 95 yards but still,

Keon Coleman 6/6 for 63 yards
Khalil Shakir 6/3 38 Yards

You can in fact have a good tight end and still give your top 2 WRs targets.

Yeah F that. I'm not interested in trading Marv.

If we can't get the most of of a player like Marv there is no hope for this team. And I don't want to trade away his potential for the equivalent of Trey Benson so he can go be a star elsewhere and make us look like clowns.

I’m a MHjr Stan till the day he off this team - even if it’s 602 Kyler Murray esq delusion, I still believe he has potential to be a great.

The night is darkest just before the dawn. Would love to see a starting caliber QB throwing to him, although I’m starting to lose hope that it’s going to happen this season

Well you can do that when there are 71 combined points and the offense gets 74 snaps.

Cards are averaging 62 snaps per game and had 50 against the Seahawks.

When it comes to plays designed for Marvin Harrison Jr., Mike LaFleur says there are definitely things the Cardinals are doing with MHJ that they aren't with other guys.

At the end of the day, "all he can do and all the other eligibles can do is what their assignment is and then the defense will dictate whether the ball gets there or will dictate based on our protections and that sort of thing."

It’s also darkest right before it goes pitch black.

after the week MHJ has had answering all the questions about his performance or lack there of, and still has a poor game, poor route running, lazy blocking it’s officially an issue no matter what MLF or the players say. His football manhood was called into question, so I would expect a professional athlete to come out with some piss and vinegar Sunday

Cards fans have different ways of handling what this team dumps on us. Some post a lot of negative stuff. Some can't take their rose colored glasses off. Some try to make people laugh. Some are measured and look at the business end of things. Some do all of the above.

I rarely participate in the live game threads because I can't stand the negativity. I create enough on my own.

MHJ has been a huge disappointment so far and I get why this thread is 70 plus pages. I'm done participating in this thread because it's as hashed out and tired as the Kyler thread, IMHO.

Enjoy your debates but let's try not to hate on each other.

I would assume we will make a concerted effort early to get him in the game. The problem is if you are paying attention they have a much better pass defense than run defense so trying to do that might not be what works best.

I guess where you and I differ is that if he only produced 500 yards this seasonn after seasons 1 and 2 I would no longer be classifying him as “young talent” and I would consider his help for a young QB to be negligible at best.

I had to look this one up because it seemed like it couldn't be true, but it is. Marv has 3 games in his NFL career with 0 catches for 0 yards. He has more 0 catch games than he has 100 yard receiving games(2).

baby steps he made a big clutch catch on a high throw. As they said on tv he was out quite a bit because we were in so much 3 TE. When our new TE got hurt we played more 2 or 3 WR and Marv got in.

I thought the OPI was a bad call.

MHJ is the #3 WR on this team.
We spent a 1st rd pick on a #3 WR. He should be going 150% and complaining if he’s not getting targets.
He needs to step it up but it doesn’t appear that he wants it. Maybe he’s just soft. This feels so much like Murray. We need to move on from him. What’s sad is we probably won’t and the team will suffer.

Don’t know the man, but his low key quiet personality sure seems like it seeps into his play. Just wish he would show some Trey McBride fire once in a while and look like he wants it
