Wide receiver Mike Williams has announced his retirement from the NFL after eight seasons.
The announcement of Williams' retirement came as Chargers training camp got underway on Thursday. He reportedly informed the team of his decision on Wednesday night via his agent, Tory Dandy.
Williams had signed with Los Angeles this offseason on a one-year deal after playing the 2024 season with the Jets and Steelers.
Selected No. 7 overall in the 2017 NFL draft, Williams had 309 receptions for 4,806 yards and 31 touchdowns across seven seasons with the Bolts.
Williams' retirement leaves the Chargers with Ladd McConkey, Quentin Johnston, and rookie Tre Harris at the top of the positional group depth chart.
