The Chargers have applied the unrestricted free agent tender to running back J.K. Dobbins, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

If Dobbins signs with a new team before training camp, he will still count towards the compensatory formula. If he doesn't sign with a new team by training camp, the Bolts are the only team allowed to sign him for the rest of the season. Dobbins would make $3.428 million for 2025 on the one-year tender.

The Chiefs were the last team to use the tender, applying it to Melvin Ingram III and Justin Houston.

Signed last offseason, Dobbins' play exceeded his $1.6 million prove-it deal. He set a career-high in rushing yards (905) and tied his personal best in rushing touchdowns (9).

After spending most of his time with the Ravens on the sidelines due to multiple lower-body injuries, Dobbins managed to stay healthy for most of the season, appearing in 13 games in 2024.
