Maybe from the splash screen that says, "PAT PETE EXPOSED!" you expected this video to show that Peterson played badly against McLaurin, but it doesn't show that at all.

    1st play: Peterson blitzed.
2nd play: Peterson had outside leverage & McLaurin caught a quick inside slant for 9 yards.
3rd play: Peterson had tight coverage on McLaurin; Haskins tried a back shoulder throw but McLaurin never broke off his route. Incomplete.
4th play: Soft zone coverage. McLaurin cut inside, Peterson came off him to cover an out-breaking receiver, and McLaurin found a soft spot in the zone and picked up about 12 for a meaningless gain out to the Redskins 40 with time ticking down in the half.
5th play: McLaurin caught a 6-yard slant on Peterson & picked up the first down before Peterson's tackle.
6th play: pick play got McLaurin open over the middle, but the pressure from Kennard came too quickly for Haskins who threw incomplete. Looked as though Banjo was in position to hammer McLaurin if the pass had made it to him.
7th play: score 27-3, soft zone coverage, Peterson was on the opposite side of the field from McLaurin who cut into the open middle and turned a 6-yard pass into a 25-yard gain.
8th play: Peterson in man coverage, outside leverage on McLaurin with only Baker deep/inside. McLaurin took yet another short inside slant, Baker took a terrible angle and actually cut off Peterson's pursuit, and McLaurin took it 24 yards for the TD to make the score 27-9.

That's it! So, perhaps one bad play by Peterson? McLaurin was around 4-48-1 vs. Peterson. Literally every one of McLaurin's catches was an inside slant, and Peterson was either not covering him, in zone with outside / over the top responsibility, or in man but expecting inside / over the top safety coverage. Even on these plays, it seemed as though the scheme was for Peterson to protect against the deep ball and concede quick inside slants.

Well the video isn't all about P2. It's about McLaurin and P2. So yes, it shows P2 blitzing on a McLaurin catch but thats not their to say P2 did something wrong.

But the rest of the video he gets burnt a lot, especially inside. One of the biggest issues with P2 in this game was how much outside leverage he took despite repeatedly getting burned inside. We can argue over semantics but it wasn't a good game for sure.

If he’s lined up with outside leverage, it’s the scheme/coverage. Either the linebacker or safety are supposed to fill. We might have been in cover 3 in some of those plays based on the lack of jam and giving no real pressure right behind him. Without knowing the play call we can only speculate, but reviewing the tape and @daves breakdown, I think it’s safe to say those slants weren’t totally on him.
