The Arizona Cardinals, already dealing with the knee injury of Marvin Harrison Jr., will be without Michael Wilson for a little bit. After he dove for a ball in practice at State Farm Stadium on Friday and had a helmet-to-knee collision with safety Budda Baker, Wilson exited practice and is now in the league's concussion protocol.
Here is the play:
Head coach Jonathan Gannon told reporters Saturday about Wilson's status ahead of the team's Red & White Practice.
"It just it seemed like one of those (plays) where they're both busting their butt to make a play and then just something happens," Gannon said.
However, it was partially avoidable.
"That's why I want him to stay up," Gannon said, referring to Wilson diving for the ball. "I know it's hard. That's their instincts, to go dive for the ball, but in practice that can lead to some contact that you don't want to happen.
"I don't fault them, but I don't want them going to the ground, either."
The Cardinals will have an off day on Sunday and then will begin to prep for their first preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs next Saturday.
Baker, whose knee looked hyperextended on the play, was back on the field on Saturday, so it appears he avoided injury.

VERY scary moment here between Budda Baker and Michael Wilson. Both got up on their own power. pic.twitter.com/QkW4NGOS69
