I'm guessing he saw the writing on the wall and was going to be fired at the end of the season. DL has taken a step backwards this season even with the additional help brought in.
Yeah,...both lines.
Its glaring on offense...
but then when you look at defensive stats and eye tests...far worse talent pool in 2024 produced similar stats and better game tape.

Monti and JG both came in talking about controlling the trenches...and looked on their way to doing it...its amazing how losing a couple position coaches can just totally derail all your progress.
I still think Klayton Adams was our biggest loss from last season...how do you have enough acumen to sniff out a guy like that but then not enough savvy to keep him?

I suspect he is more of a rah rah guy that fits more in the college locker room. Half the Dline is as old or older than him. This was his first taste of being the Dline coach in the NFL and I suspect he found coaching NFL players to be quite different than college and decided college was more his niche. There could have been even a clash of character between him and the older guys. This is all supposition on my part and certainly not fact by any means. LaBlanc on the other hand was a grizzled veteran coach who is almost twice as old as Debo.

The link below is a pretty good read on him.

Interesting in Adams, before we hired him he was a TE coach for the Colts. he'd been an assistant OL coach for them, then left for ASU, and then came back to be the TE coach. So I wonder if the Cards knew about him because of ASU?

From Sacramento. and he credits his coaching career to Chris Strausser who was the OL coach for the Colts. He then moved on to the Texans who fired him after last year. Apparently out of football this year.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if we hire him as our OL coach next year? Not saying we should but given how big the loss of Adams was it would not surprise me if we try to hire the guy Adams credits for his coaching career?
