Cardinals make starting QB decision on Kyler Murray vs. Jacoby Brissett originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.

Jacoby Brissett showed everyone what he is capable of in a Monday Night Football win over the Dallas Cowboys.

Whether that's enough to win the Arizona Cardinals' starting QB job outright seems less probable, though.

After Monday's game, that's what Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon was asked about.

Is Kyler Murray still the starter?

"Yeah, nothing's changed," Gannon told reporters.

He was asked a follow-up, too, but said he had nothing more to add.

Murray has been out with a mid-foot sprain. His next chance to play will be this upcoming Sunday, Nov. 9, against the Seattle Seahawks.

Brissett was signed to a two-year deal in the offseason to be Murray's backup. The Cardinals have remained committed to the former No. 1 overall pick Murray despite him not having a win-heavy career in the early going.

Murray is clearly still a talented quarterback with plenty of arm talent and impressive mobility.

But there's also something to be said for knowing that the QB you already have on the field is getting the job done.

The Cardinals, even if it's not now, will have to make a larger determination on Murray's future.

But for now, it appears they're sticking with him.
