I figured this might happen when I saw the Saints cut him.

I really liked Davis coming out but just hasn't done well at NFL level.

You know I love legacy players; he’s Willie Davis’ grandson. He played mostly RG at Ohio State. He was well regarded as a prospect and most projected him as an eventual NFL starter at RG. He was the top rated G coming out of High School. Davis received major exposure when he won the Rimmington-Pace Award in his last year at OSU. The word out of Vikes‘ camp was he showed up out of shape and was quickly injured. His dedication to excellence was questioned by the staff. He had always gotten by on pure athleticism (sound familiar?) and never mastered the technique of a top performer. He’s likely still a great athlete, but there cut list is littered with guys who’ve squandered their talent.
