Former Arizona Staterunning back Cam Skattebo was one of the best all-around players in college football last season, and his efforts have him firmly on the 2025 NFL Draft radar.
Skattebo, a second-year transfer from FCS Sacramento State in 2024, rushed for 1,711 yards with 21 touchdowns on 293 carries. He also caught 45 passes for 605 yards with three touchdowns and led the country in combined rushing and receiving yards.
The 5-foot-11 running back nearly willed the Sun Devils to a College Football Playoff win over Texas, as he ran for 143 yards and two touchdowns, caught eight passes for 99 yards and threw a 42-yard touchdown on a trick play. His final game ended up being one of the best CFP performances ever, although in losing fashion.

Skattebo isn't expected to be a first-round pick, but he should compete to contribute right away at the NFL level.
Here are the latest mock draft projections for Skattebo:
Skattebo has a 6.16 prospect grade by NFL.com, which puts him into a category of "good backup with the potential to develop into a starter."
He has the second-best total score among running backs in 2025, as he ranks 16th in athleticism score and second in production score, according to NFL.com's metrics.
"Kareem Hunt filled in admirably for the injured Isiah Pacheco throughout the 2024 NFL season, but neither back averaged more than 3.7 yards per carry last season," USA TODAY Sports' Jacob Camenker wrote. "Hunt will turn 30 ahead of the 2025 campaign, so the Chiefs should probably add another playmaker to their backfield rotation.
"Skattebo was one of college football's breakout stars in 2024. He finished fifth in the Heisman voting after racking up 1,711 rushing yards and 21 rushing touchdowns on 293 carries while leading Arizona State to a College Football Playoff appearance.
"Skattebo's thick build (5-9, 219 pounds) and top-tier contact balance should make him tough to tackle at the NFL level. That makes him a strong long-term partner for the speedy Pacheco."
