Calls Mount for Yankees to Make Major Decision on Manager Aaron Boone originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

After reaching the World Series in 2024, the New York Yankees rewarded manager Aaron Boone with a contract extension through the 2027 season. Boone, who replaced Joe Girardi in December 2017, is now in his eighth season leading the storied franchise.

But managing the Yankees — owners of a record 27 World Series titles — comes with immense expectations. As of late, the results haven’t measured up.

Despite entering Saturday’s matchup against the New York Mets with a 48-40 record, the Yankees have been one of the coldest teams in baseball since mid-June. They’ve lost five straight — their second such skid in the last 22 games. Back on June 13, they sat at 42-25 and led the AL East. Since then, they’ve stumbled to a 6-15 record and have fallen out of first place.

While there’s still time to course correct, the fan base is growing restless — and much of the frustration is now being directed at Boone, who has yet to deliver a championship during his tenure in the Bronx.

Calls have mounted during the Yankees’ recent slump for the team to finally part ways with Boone — though, at this point, such a move still appears unlikely.

"Mortified that the hot seat doesn’t even exist for Aaron Boone. Man could light Yankee Stadium on fire and they’d still say he’s a great communicator," A fan said.

Someone else added, "Aaron Boone getting fired would be like a top 8 greatest sports fan moment of my life."

Another fan posted, "The Yankees are a very talented team. They will never be winners with Aaron Boone as Manager."

"Aaron Boone is an awful manager and the Yankees are in trouble until he is gone," one more fan commented."
