The Buffalo Bills are fresh off their first loss of the 2025 NFL season and will now visit the Atlanta Falcons for a "Monday Night Football" game in Week 6

All week, topics and storylines have been discussed ahead of this cross-conference clash. In the end, regardless of what is said by players, coaches, media outlets and fans, it always comes down to what unfolds on the field in the NFL.

And once it's game time, there will be a few particular things to look out for.

With that, here are five things to watch for during the Bills (4-1) versus Falcons (2-2) game in Week 6:

Bounce-back start

The Bills lost last week. It happens to most teams, but when it's your first and you are a Super-Bowl favorite? It looms more.

This Bills team has to respond to a defeat for the first time in 2025. A strong win would show a lot of character.

New QB on the block

Michael Penix Jr. is one of the NFL's top young quarterbacks. He has his ups and downs like any newcomer but Penix's last game was his bet.

Penix, 25, was the No. 8 overall pick at the 2024 NFL draft. The Washington Commanders were without their starting QB in Jayden Daniels but the Falcons won 34-27 in their last outing and Penix had career highs in completion percentage (77%), passing yards (313), yards per attempt (12) and passer rating (126).

Penix is coming in with confidence... but in terms of simple "things to watch for" on Monday? The Bills will get a look at an up-and-coming QB. Take notes.

Bye week vibe

This was not mentioned in the last one: But the Falcons' last game was in Week 4. Atlanta has a rested team as they're coming off of their early-season bye last weekend.

Speaking of... for Buffalo... the Bills will play in Atlanta and then head into their own bye next week. The Bills will not want to take a week off on a sour note.

Which team gets that "boost" related to their bye week as opposed to the nugget of disappointment?

Hitting the ground

Bills running back James Cook was bottled up by an opposing defense in last week's loss to the New England Patriots. The Pats held him to only 49 rushing yards. That kept the Bills offense more one-dimensional than usual and changing that will help quarterback Josh Allen.

Having said that, on both sides, the rushing attack weights heavy for both offenses. Buffalo is the second-best unit in the NFL averaging 154.4 yards per game. The Falcons, led by running back Bijan Robinson, is at sixth (136.5).

The ground game is not sexy but it's important.

Keon...

The Bills got a big game from tight end Dalton Kincaid despite losing to the Patriots. Wide receiver Keon Coleman had a touchdown but fumbled and started the game benched.

Is a statement from Coleman coming?
