The 2025 NFL draft is in the books. Bring on the 2026 mock drafts!
Okay, we're not really going to focus much on next year's mocks until this winter at the earliest, but with the draft so fresh in everyone's minds, we will take a look at one 2026 projection before moving from the topic for eight months or so.
In his way-too-early first-round 2026 NFL mock draft, Draft Wire's Curt Popejoy has the Denver Broncos selecting Georgia linebacker C.J. Allen with the 17th overall pick. (Don't get too offended -- Popejoy noted that the order of picks was "largely random.")
After beginning the 2023 season as a backup with the Bulldogs, Allen was thrust into a starter role due to injuries, and he went on to be named to the freshman All-SEC team. The 6-1, 235-pound defender totaled 41 tackles, two pass breakups and one sack that season.
Last year, Allen recorded 49 tackles, four pass breakups and one interception. Alex Singleton is coming off a torn ACL and he will turn 32 this season, so it wouldn't be surprising to see the Broncos target a linebacker early in the 2026 draft.
Now we return to focusing on Denver's upcoming 2025 campaign.
