Broncos Wire's 90-man offseason roster series continues today with a look at rookie linebacker JB Brown, No. 50.
Before the Broncos: Brown (6-2, 220 pounds) played for Bowling Green University from 2020-22, where he played in 30 games. In that time, Brown recorded 75 combined tackles (48 solo, 27 assisted), six tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, one pass deflection, two fumble recoveries and three forced fumbles.
Brown then transferred to Kansas ahead of the 2023 season. In 25 games, Brown recorded 131 tackles (91 solo, 40 assisted), 16 tackles for loss, 7.0 sacks, four pass deflections, two fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles. In 2024, Brown had his best statistical year in college with 74 total tackles (52 solo, 22 assisted), 10 tackles for loss and 5.0 sacks, earning an honorable mention All-Big 12 nod at linebacker.
Broncos tenure: Brown was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Denver Broncos after attending the team's rookie minicamp in May. He is set to make his Bronco debut during preseason this summer.
Chances to make the 53-man roster: On the bubble. Brown will be battling it out with fellow undrafted free agent rookie Karene Reid (among others) for a backup role at inside linebacker. Brown will have the chance to impress at training camp beginning in late July.
