Oklahoma football wide receiver Keontez Lewis suffered a scary injury during Oklahoma's win against Kent State on Saturday, Oct. 4.

Lewis was attempting to catch a pass for a touchdown from quarterback Michael Hawkins Jr., but the ball was overthrown and Lewis hit his head as he ran into the brick wall in the end zone, while running at full speed.

He was down on the field for several minutes, being aided by the Sooners' trainers and medical team. Eventually, Lewis was placed on a stretcher and taken off the field.

Fortunately, Lewis' x-rays came back negative and he was walking around in the locker room.

During his press conference on Tuesday, Oct. 7, Oklahoma coach Brent Venables said there are discussions about stopping such a scary incident from happening again.

"They’re going to put some padding around that brick area," Venables said.
