E-Rod was very good tonight. And Saalfrank was big-time clutch.
And while Rashi looks so hittable, he retired the side in order to close it out.

Back to 500… 20 games left in the season, to make up 5 1/2 games for that final Wild Card slot…

With all that this team has dealt with (so many key injuries, a woeful bullpen, etc), it seems incredible that they are at .500 and still in the conversation for a wildcard spot. Ordinarily, I’d say that must be great coaching, but I don’t feel that way either. I’m not sure what to attribute it to other than the moxie of some of the players.

You are spot on 1399. Solid record since the break has very little to do with the manager/coaches. Gallen has returned to form, Nelson has pitched well, as has Eduardo on occasion. Even the bullpen hasn't been the Gas Can Gang recently. The offense has been solid all season (currently 12th in BA, 5th in runs, 4th in HRs, 8th in OBP, and 2nd in slugging pct). Team ERA is 23rd, but slightly improving lately. If Burnes had not gone down so early in the season (at the time he went on the IL, his ERA was 2.66), and pitched with a sub 4 ERA all season, the Dbacks would either be in a solid wild card position or challenging for the division.

I see the Amateurs are spewing ignorance again… LoL!

Though often debated, I personally believe the MLB Manager is the most important “Head Coach” role in all of the 4 major pro sports.
Just stop and spend some time considering what it’s like to be the leader of a group of men (players & coaches), over a 162-game season…plus 35-40 days of Spring Training…
Spending 80+ days and nights on planes and in hotels…
The grind of the MLB season is like no other.
Along with pre-game and in-game strategy and decision-making, the MLB Manager is often the guy that holds the most influence on team energy, team culture, relationship-building amongst the entirety of the team.

We are back to .500 and holder of one of the best records in the bigs since the trade deadline, mostly because of Torey’s ability to keep this team focused, connected and prepared to fight each day.
Unlike many other teams, this Dbacks team is entirely void of an Alpha among the players. There is no true leader within the roster. Perdomo is showing signs of one day becoming a team leader, but he still young and has more maturing to do. That said, if there is one player Torey leans on to be more of a leader, it’s Gerry.

Now… continue on with your blind dissing of Torey.

It's amazing what solid starting pitching combined with steady bullpen performance can do for a team's psyche. Excellent series win against a good AL team.

The ending of the Baltimore Dodgers game looked wild

The Dodgers were one out away from a no hit win over the Orioles when they rallied to beat the Dodgers

Yanamoto threw 112 pitches 8 2/3 innings 10 strikeouts two walks, then gave up the home run.

Dodgers, then put in two different relievers who lost the game
