Working as a recruiter has opened my eyes to just how much I don't know with kids these days. They're definitely very different than when I was there age. I didn't have a cell phone, social media, etc.

I have more in common with my grandfather's generation than the current one.

Uhhhh, I hate to tell you this but she also told me that no one uses 'bro' anymore, it's 'bruh'... get in the game bruh!

Crazy, right? With 10 and 11 year old boys I try to remain relevant with what they watch/like but so much of it is soooo stupid I can’t help but think of Idiocracy. YouTube will be the ultimate downfall of civilization as we know it.

Have you watched the movie "Don't Look Up"? I think our doom is more like that. Society being slowly dumbed down and distracted from things that really matter.

Wasn't @Ouchie-Z-Clown original name something like PhxSports4Evah? Don't remember assface original. Not that it matters but wasn't @Chopper0080 HarleyRider? There's a couple of others too but they're slipping my mind right now.

I have. But I think that’s the result of what I’m talking about. One of our boys is glued to YouTube all day. He learns some cool stuff on it, he learns some meaningless stuff on it, but he’s also started to find the idiotic stuff on it like conspiracy theories. The other day in the car he told me the moon landing was faked and then started bringing up the moving and different footprint arguments that aren’t based in reality. I had to argue with him for a while to get him to understand that just because someone makes something on YouTube doesn’t mean it’s accurate or true.

Was an awful screen name.

I got lucky with Ouchie-a-Clown as the the posters who followed my lead and let the board rename them ended up with:

Assface (still one of my favorites - the 10 year old in me can’t stop laughing when I think about how innocently he asked to be renamed and ended up with this)

That way he can see both arguments.

The problem is a 10 year old has very little capability to discern truth from fiction with those. Just not enough life experience and mental analytical tools to use.

In all honesty, Culley exceeded expectations with that team. No one had them winning more than 1 game with that roster
