Lost in all the hoopla about Comey today is one of Trump's pet bills went down to defeat in the Senate as three R voted "No", including John McCain.

I know it's not all that much, but it actually gives me some small glimmer of hope that the Republican congress is maybe going to start to resist Trump.

The other two senators were Lindsey Graham and Susan Collins.

Let's see those names and start a death/fired/retirement pool.

My money is on Mccain holding out the longest, I dont like the guy but he's not really one to cave under pressure. Plus hes a huge AHOLE, and I dont know if he's going to take any of Trumps crap in a public forum when Trump starts roasting him on Twitter.

I wish I could see Trump today when that vote failed. I bet they had to all stand outside the oval office while he laid under his desk kicking his feet in the air and shaking his tiny fists yelling; NOT FAIR NOT FAIR NOT FAIR NOT FAIR!!! I WANT MY BILL AND I WANT IT NOW!

McCain is kind of real life Jekyll and Hyde to me. there are moments like this where I really admire something he did as a politician. And, there have been many moments when he's really pissed me off.

But, I will never question the man's patriotism. Compare his real life sacrifice for our country to Trump, and it almost makes you want to puke thinking of who we have as President now.

IMO, the McCain we're seeing now is the McCain from before he ran for president.

Finally, McCain does SOMETHING to earn that Maverick label. So far under this administration he's been all talk, no action.

    The country needs him desperately.

First VOTE that McCain has made to go against the GOP this year.

Good first step, a lot more is needed

McCain is a hard core Republican but he likes to flash his supposed maverick role now and then.

I keep hoping as he gets older he will forget about party and do what is right for the people. Maybe this is starting to happen. I can only hope.

Why does the GOP hate the world so much? It's like they want to make sure that their kids have dirty air to breath and dirty water to drink, just to put a few extra bucks in their pockets. They have 0 plans for the future...I bet they don't even think about plans over the weekend...they just strictly live in the past. Ask them what their plans are for dinner, and they'll respond,"Huh...haven't thought that far ahead"
