We now know more about the new contract for the Cincinnati Bengals and running back Zack Moss.

And it turns out the Bengals clear cap space with the move, too.

According to Spotrac, Moss' restructured deal checks in at roughly $1.7 million, effectively cutting his previous scheduled contract in half, saving the team roughly $1.7 million in cap space.

Whether Moss would remain with the team at all or be cut was very much a question going into the offseason due to the nature of his neck injury last year, which forced the team to make that rare in-season trade. The Bengals then added Samaje Perine in free agency behind Chase Brown.

With this move and the Bengals not adding another back in the draft, it's clear that Moss will at least get a shot at the final roster over the summer. Whether the Bengals use the freed cap space on something else remains to be seen, though.
