In the midst of one of their most complete offensive performances of the season, the Chicago Bears saw their quarterback Caleb Williams make some incredible plays in the 31-3 blowout win over the Cleveland Browns.

During the third quarter, with Chicago looking to put an emphatic statement in the win, Williams threw a pass that seemed like it had no chance of being completed, but wide receiver DJ Moore made an incredible play to haul it in for a touchdown.

The 22-yard throw by Williams was the most improbable completion of his young career, according to Next Gen Stats, with just a 16.1% completion probability. It was also Moore's second touchdown of the game, and it came off the heels of head coach Ben Johnson voicing his desire to get the veteran more involved in the passing game.

After the game, Johnson recalled a play earlier this season against the Philadelphia Eagles, where Williams had a similar throw but that pass fell incomplete. Johnson credited Williams by saying 99% of quarterbacks would be told not to make that pass.

"Yeah, it reminded me a little bit of -- was it Philly that he threw it to OZ in the back of the end zone," Johnson said. "He was rolling to his right and we just barely missed? Yeah, I think that was Philly. Similar type concept where he's rolling to his right, and he finds the guy on the back of the end zone behind him like that. I would say 99 percent of the quarterbacks you tell them don't even waste your time looking back there and trying to make that throw. There's usually bad things that happen. Yet he's got the ability to make that throw, and DJ made a heck of a play there right on the back line, as well. Yeah, that was one of those highlight moments there."

Williams' improbable throw is one of the best highlights of the 2025 season for the Bears, and it displayed just a bit of what Williams can do as a playmaking quarterback. In his second season in the NFL, Williams may not be at the individual success he's looking to reach with Johnson, but the team just picked up their 10th win of the season and are fully in the mix in the NFC playoff race.
