If Caleb Williams thought he got a rude welcome to Lambeau Field in his rookie season just wait until Year 2.

But the Chicago Bears quarterback, at least at the moment in the offseason, he's more than willing to dish out the smack talk, something he might be learning from his new head coach Ben Johnson.

In his appearance at Fanatics Fest in New York City this week, Williams appeared to be asked about which fan bases he doesn't like or to discus his worst experience with NFL fans.

"Probably Green Bay," Williams said. "They suck."

Then he reminded everyone in attendance that the Bears defeated the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field in the season finale last year before going into a story about trying a Lambeau Leap.

"After the game, after we won at Lambeau," Williams said, with a smile. "1-0 at Lambeau," he added again.

Williams noted that after the game when he and his teammates attempted a Lambeau Leap where some Bears fans were situated, Packers fans tried to prevent it by "throwing everything at you," and they "push you off."

He added what everyone finds out when they try to jump into the stands: "The Lambeau Leap, it's a real leap. It's not a little baby jump, you actually have to high jump, basically."

But he found it difficult to do since he said Packers fans were "pushing your face."

Well, saying they "suck" won't help matters the next time he steps onto Lambeau Field or if he thinks about trying another Lambeau Leap.

This isn't the first time that Williams has used that word with "Green Bay."

Around this time last year before he even played an NFL snap, Williams was at a restaurant in Chicago's Wrigleyville and joined in on a "Green Bay sucks" chant.

Packers schedule 2025

Packers fans probably already have the game circled on their calendars. But just in case you don't, the Packers welcome Williams and the Bears to Lambeau Field on Sunday, Dec. 7.

It's a noon kickoff.

Two weeks later, the Packers play the Bears again down at Soldier Field in a game on Saturday, Dec. 20. The Packers haven't lost to the Bears on the road since Dec. 16, 2018.

Packers vs Bears in 2024

If the 2024 games between the Packers and Bears are any indication of what's in store in 2025, buckle up.

The Packers and Bears split their two-game series in 2024 with both games coming down to a last-second field goal. The Packers' Karl Brooks saved the day when he blocked Cairo Santos' potential game-winning field goal in the closing seconds to secure Green Bay's 20-19 win in Week 11 Nov. 17.

But Santos got revenge after he drilled a 51-yard game-winning field goal through the uprights as time expired at Lambeau Field in Week 18 to give the Bears a 24-22 victory. It snapped the Bears' 10-game season losing streak and their 11-game losing streak overall to the Packers.

The loss was the Packers' first to the Bears at Lambeau Field since the 2015 season.
