Have yourself a week, Caleb Williams. The Chicago Bears quarterback has been the talk of the town after leading his team to a 24-20 come-from-behind victory against the New York Giants and is now being recognized for his accomplishments off the field as well.
On Friday, Williams was named the Week 11 NFLPA Community MVP for the work he did with his youth football team. Williams brought 40 members from his youth football team, Caleb Williams Elite, to Chicago for the weekend and treated them to an AI workshop, tickets to the game, and a meet and greet with the Bears brass.
"So many young people look up to athletes. Caleb Cares exists to empower young people with two essential truths: kindness matters because you never know what battle someone else is fighting; and with belief and hard work, any dream is possible,” Williams said in the NFLPA press release. “I’m truly honored to receive the NFLPA Community MVP Award for our work and for leading with heart as we empower the next generation.”
This is Williams' second NFLPA Community MVP award. His first came in Week 14 of his rookie season after his trip back to USC for his college jersey retirement.
As part of the award, the NFLPA will donate $10,000 to a nonprofit of Williams' choice, and he will be eligible for the Alan Page Community Award at the end of the season.
