My list is pretty short: Beach Boys (W/out Brian) , Adam Ant w/INXS opening, The Monkees, Lee Greenwood, Willie Nelson, Don Williams (most boring concert ever), Waylon Jennings, Dwight Yoakam (1991 in Lincoln, Nebraska, my favorite concert), Buck Owens, Neil Young & Crazy Horse. Had tickets to see Paul McCartney in the mid-70's in Germany but my car broke down on the autobahn.

Hey! We have Santana in common! Also, we're Pink Floyd-adjacent....

:D

I missed you at the Deicide show though....

Saw Pink Floyd... once waaaayy back at Fillmore West.. probably not more than a couple hundred people there.

Then in Phoenix at some outdoor baseball park??? hardly any memory of that one:D

That is a HELLUVA a list, MrYeahBut. Those I am EXTREMELY jealous about are as follows ...
James Brown
Three Dog Night
Miles Davis
Rolling Stones
Joe Cocker
Boz Skaggs
Ray Charles
Ike & Tina Turner
Crosby Stills Nash Young
Iggy Pop
Janice Joplin
Stevie Wonder
Tanya Tucker
Santana
Eric Clapton (Delanie & Bonnie)
Jackson Browne
The Who (Tommy)
Al Green
Temptations
BB King
Los Lobos
Trans Siberian Orchestra
Neil Young
Stevie Ray Vaughan
Sting

On the flip side, I have seen Depeche Mode twice (once in Philly and once recently in Phoenix ... both awesome shows), Elton John with Billy Joel and Paul McCartney (freaking awesome).

Others I have seen ...

Michael Jackon and the Jacksons Victory Tour (freaking awesome, my first concert ever)
Amnesty International (Peter Gabriel, Tracy Chapman, Springsteen, Sting)
Prince
The Cure
INXS
Robert Palmer
Living Color (opened for Palmer)
Stevie Nicks
Hall and Oats
Debbie Gibson
Tommy Conwell and the Young Rumblers (local Philly group ... awesome!)
The Hooters
Bryan Adams
Heart
Billy Joel
Beach Boys
U2
Pearly Jam
Foo Fighters

I know there are more. My high school boyfriend was very into music and he took me to a ton of concerts back in the day. I will always be grateful to him for that.

If memory serves me right I think I did see Fleetwood Mac so I could include Stevie Nicks...

I would add The Cure to my list that I've never seen-(even an ol' geezer like me had 'Boys don't Cry for a ringtone once...lol)

Probably should have said Michael Jackson too, shame I never saw him

Jacksons was my first concert ever. Was in the section that was farthest from the stage at JFK stadium. Was still incredible. Am so grateful that my aunt took me at age 12.

Ha, shows what you know. I was pretty young and I had a DATE. At that age, I'd have sat through just about anything for a date. Come to think of it though, I might have lost my young man card for letting her mom drive us.

My mom had a chance to see one of Elvis's last shows. She still regrets that she didn't go.

Kinda off topic, but whatever.

You know, I completely forgot about Vegas shows. To my short but unimpressive list I can add Wayne Newton, The 5th Dimension, The Righteous Brothers and Sammy Davis Jr.

Jealous of Sammy Davis Jr. and the Righteous Brothers.

Not sure why I feel the need to post my jealousy, lol. Guess it's just cause I think it's cool that someone I kinda know has seen these guys. Very cool.

Against my will, I went and saw Chick Corea Elektric Band when they first launched in the early 80s. Some of you are wondering who the hell that is. Those of you that do know are wondering why anyone would admit to it.

But it was the freakin' greatest day of my life. Chick, Patitucci, Weckl, Scott Henderson, Eric Marienthal. I was in the 4th row. It was like seeing the NBA in the high-dollar seats. That kind of skill, that kind of breathtaking, athletic type of ability on their instruments. I think about it now and I remember how dorky those jazzers were trying to put on an R&B-style jazz act, but I also remember being hit in the gut with so much chops that I was physically dizzy and nauseous after the show going home (and no alcohol was involved).

But the greatest experience I've ever had at a live show was seeing Los Hombres Calientes at the Chandler Jazz Fest. Bill Summers, Irvin Mayfield, Jason Marsalis, and they were clearly playing for the music and not dumbing it down for the white-collar crowd (which usually happens at jazz fests). They went to another plain of existence. I can't even describe it. All the musicians there -- including Branford and Wynton, who stopped by on their way to a recording session in LA -- were completely blown away by the unbelievable music made there that day. Very special moment in time.

If that's what it took to get a date, I'd have been there. Although by the 70's when my trips to Vegas began I was already married and I suspect my wife would have frowned on the whole dating thing. Did you notice that I was polite and never once teased you about Kenny G?;).

The Righteous Brothers were well past their prime when I saw them but they were still a lot of fun. They played the MGM for quite awhile and I went to several of their shows (always comped) as they were well known in the poker room where I use to spend a lot of time. When I saw Sammy, he was only a handful of years from his death but he could still move. His voice was strained and weakening but there was nothing wrong with his feet.

There are probably several more I'm just not calling to mind right now. Left out most of the opening acts and the country western shows I've had to endure with my wife. Best/most memorable shows:

1. Pink Floyd - This was in the Astrodome in Houston. I was on acid and guys behind us kept passing us joints so we would share our binoculars. Somehow, i still remember many amazing aspects of this concert. Mindblowing from start to finish

2. Judas Priest - Amazing live band. One that is far more powerful live than on their records. I'll go with the Screaming for Vengenance tour as the one at the absolute top of their powers.

3. George Thorogood - First of all, the band blew the top of the joint. Then, we actually met them by the tour bus and George, Billy (the bassist?) and Jeff (drummer) brought some beers out of the tour bus and shot the breeze with us for about 30 minutes. Totally cool and down to earth dudes.

....and a few others i'm sure i'm missing.

Had the chance to see "Yes" and dropped the ball.

-4TH row for Pink Floyd in front of Dave Gilmour was easily the high mark among all shows i've been to.
-Rush in '84 was still the loudest indoor concert i've ever witnessed.
-Scorpions get the nod for loudest outdoor show.
-5th row for Tom Petty was amazing.
-best male singer goes to Chris Cornell who was awesome both times....and worst goes to Vince Neal who was horrible twice.
-my first concert was the Police in '83.
- I went to see U2 in '85 by myself and was nearly killed in a mosh pit at the front of the stage. The bulk of U2 concert goer's before the Joshua Tree success were punkers and skinheads. I wasnt prepared for that :D.
