I'm happy overall. ASU has a bit of a talent deficit, but when you throw a major coaching deficit as well you get the crap show we've seen so far.

This falls into the category of 'better late than never' but failing to replace him the first 387 times it became obvious he needed to go will haunt this program for centuries, perhaps eons to come. I figure I'll be at least 3,000 years old by the time we're a viable threat again.

ASU doesn't have to be buried forever. It's a different era and programs can be turned around quickly with the correct hire and approach. Baylor being just one (of several) recent examples of coming back from the dead. The issue is more that no one can trust Ray Anderson to make a hire that's in the best interest of the university rather than his own.

CBS Sports website has this article up about their various hunches for a new coach. Some are reasonable and some are out there, as you might expect.

It all depends on the NCAA penalties.

Matt Rhule would be near the top of my list, but I'd love for ASU to snatch up a little young air raid disciple and to bring in a known quantity to be the DC.

Since the NCAA investigation isn't completed, I wonder if Arizona State will owe Herm Edwards $8+ million under the circumstances.

Athletic had a great article about Herm.

Herm's problem was he was clueless. He hired people to handle the "college end" of things and he just basically coached the coaches. Herm didn't even know collegiate protocol and rules. But, they made him out to be a tremendous guy with great character, but just ignorant to the details and legalities of the college football world.

I wish him the best.

Maybe, but as the HC, he has to have better awareness of the people underneath him. Sean Miller is gonna get busted for this not because he was caught, but because he didn’t have instructional control of his staff

I was laughed at here when I said the locker room was fractured. I knew it was a mess, but not to this degree
