I was wondering if anyone is concerned with any backlash from ASU supporters. It's safe to say that the media has already taken their side and will be on the Cards but that's nothing new. I saw some ASU fans already started a boycott Cardinals website.

So we can just piss away a group of current or potential Cards fans? Not always the smartest business practice.

Not saying that the Cards should roll over and die on this issue, but they must be smart. Everything they do is scrutinized and rarely is the spolight of good shone on them. There was probably a better way for all this to occur.

See, I am actually thinking about boycotting ASU games.

I think the way that ASU AD Gene Smith has handled this situation has been extremely petty and in bad taste. ASU is in the wrong and it is obvious.....I don't really see what the problem is.

That's ridiculous.

I am an ASU grad and diehard fan, but I come down on the Cards' side in this issue. ASU has reaped millions since the Cards showed up to play at SDS.

This money, up to $21 million, is not going to financially strap ASU as much as they let on, not after the amount of money they've raked in directly benefiting from the Cards presence at SDS.

Heck, the reason ASU was able to LOWER their upcoming football ticket prices is likely because of their Sunday revenues from the Cards.

I still support my school and my NFL team. Can't see why anyone would "boycott" the Cards unless they never were a Cards' fan anyway.

To me its the principle of the deal CB. The Cards were screwed by ASU bottom line.

How many of us would just say oh its just 21 mill how bout we just go ahead and eat it because it might piss off some ASU alumni?

I know I wouldnt. I wouldnt say its smart in business to accept a 21 million dollar loss either.

I think they should ask themselves why the agreement was reached in the first place, and ask why ASU didn't pony up their share.

Of course they won't, but they should.

Then they should continue their witch hunt in South Bend if they still have a problem. Maybe chase down Charles Harris as well. Let's see, 1994... Was that Harris? I don't remember.

Of course they won't do this either, since it's much more convenient and certainly much easier to just blame Bidwill for the entire thing.

You may have to hit me over the head with this, but

Why, if the decision was rendered by the arbitrator in May of 2002 and no decsion on monetary damges is due until late summer or early fall, did this become a front page story last Friday?

Another question is....
Why doesn't ASU just honor the agreement that they made?

Another question might be....
Why don't they sell beer at the stadium and actually get some of these staunch ASU supporters to the games?

They've done a pretty good job ignoring of ASU the past few years, so what the hey.....

Good point. The home crowds have been pitiful, even with Andrew Walter, Shaun McDonald, and Terrell Suggs tearing it up on the field.

I'm in the same boat as Brian. I'm a loyal ASU fan and a Cards fan. But I don't see how the Cards are guilty of anything except poor timing. And our AD has already taken some pot shots at the Cards through the press, which is pretty pathetic IMO.

I'm going to go on supporting both ASU and the Cards like I've always been. But it seems like I'm in the minority. It sucks because it seems like the Cards are going to lose a lot of fans because of this.

Actually, if read my post you notice I am not saying the Cards are wrong here. All I said was pissing off future customers isn;t always the best idea, then I proceeded to say there had to have been a better way to handle this for both sides.

$21 million isn't chump change but at what cost is all I am saying. If the further blemish on the Cards image doesn;t matter (again, not saying they are wrong but I imagine the bulk of people think the Cards are wrong here) then by all means, take the risk.
