Diamondbacks RHP Merrill Kelly (7-4, 3.49) vs. Giants RHP Landen Roupp (6-5, 3.43)
At Chase Field: Kelly allowed five runs (three earned) in five innings in a loss to the Marlins last week. … He has allowed 12 runs (nine earned) in 16 innings over his past three starts. … He has a 3.18 ERA in 20 starts against the Giants in his career, including giving up just one run in seven innings in a game against them in San Francisco in May. … Roupp was a 12th-round pick out of North Carolina-Wilmington in 2021. He won a spot in the rotation during the spring and has pitched well for the Giants, with the exception of a couple of clunkers. … He gave up just one unearned run in 5 1/3 innings against the White Sox in a start last week. … Roupp averages 92.7 mph with his sinker, but his best pitch is his curveball, which elicits a 39 percent whiff rate.
