We will finish around 86 wins.
I would take that win total at this point - given season performance to date. But 86 wins will not make the playoffs this year...particularly if the DBacks stay mired in 4th place out of 5 all year.

St. Louis has lost 6 games the entire month of May, two of which came on May 1st and May 2nd. In other words, they have been the hottest team in MLB for virtually a month now.
Doesn't change the fact that they ARE in a rebuilding mode. That was made very clear at the start of the season. A youth movement is underway. They were 14-19 not too long ago and are certainly performing way beyond expectations right now. They will come back to Earth soon. I hope that starts today because a sweep at the hands of a rebuilding Cardinals team is not exactly what the doctor ordered for the DBacks.

And?

Dbacks have lost four very winnable games in a row
Most of those games have come down too bad decisions by Tori in the use of his bullpen and lineup

Yes, the players have to execute. Victoria is the one that needs to put the right people in the position to execute.

I’m also not leaving Hazen out of this because once both Puk and Martinez went down, he should have been working to get more bullpen help.

In this insistence on playing Lawler to the detriment of the team has to stop

Hazen should really be on the phone to see who he can dump, at this point. Almost nobody should be off-limits. Just turn it over to the youngsters...and dump Lovullo, too.

I was wrong yesterday in saying give Tony until the All-Star break. It needs to happen much sooner.

The problem is that ownership is not going to continue to spend big money (Which supprisingly enough they have been willing to do) just to watch us choke our way to a 4th place finish in the division and miss the playoffs for 2 straight years.

If they do not capitilize on this window...ownership will trade away talent and close that window. We are not a big enough market to have a top 5 roster and not make the playoffs.

I say fire Torrey now and bring in someone old school. My vote is Gracie

Let's hope the woeful Pie-Rats don't come to Chase and knock the stuffing out of the DBacks like fellow NL Central Cardinals did over the weekend. Somehow I can't believe that Lovullo could survive a three game sweep by the Pie-Rats at Chase Field. Knowing our plummeting DBacks, they will manage to win 1 out of the 3 games with the Pie-Rats - and Lovullo will be good with the recent .333 win percentage.
