Hard to call a 23 year old a mega bust… That said, his two years in the minors certainly haven’t justified his #12 overall pick…Also mega bust Tommy Troy as well

I don't see why anyone would see the DBacks as anything but sellers at this point. Still under .500, 4 teams to crawl over just to get to the last wild card spot. The division is already out of reach. The only thing that would change my mind is if they went on a 10-15 game winning streak right now. But that ain't gonna happen, folks. Unless of course you believe in unicorns.Cursed

4 games out of the last wild card with 4 teams to crawl over. I like your optimism, but let's face it - when he brought in Stinkel last night, everyone on this forum thought he would blow it - particularly with his elevated ERA. I'm just a realist. The team has been a couple games above or below .500 for a couple of months. And with all the injuries, being a buyer at the trade deadline doesn't make a lot of sense - from the baseball business point of view. And Torey still can't manage a bullpen consistently.Because despite being absolutely fubar'd by injuries, they are only 4 games out.
Everyone else is hating on Torey and I think this might be his best season managing outside of the world series.
He got zero credit for putting in Ginkel last game in the 9th despite his 10 ERA. Buy and give the man a chance

Kelly doing it with a lot fewer pitches. He could pitch a complete game at this rate.Crazy pitcher duel. Both Kelly and Pivetta only 1 hit allowed
the fact that Alek Thomas doesn’t know how to swing a baseball bat makes his glove in CF irrelevant.
He pinch hit in the final ABAlek Thomas didn't play tonight...
He pinch hit in the final AB
Not sure why Thomas gets mentioned tonight when all he did was pinch hit??There were 4 walks in there so a stellar combined .178 OPS.
Alek Thomas though!!!

FWIW, when I do go there with Thomas, it is merely from the standpoint of wanting more from an everyday CF…
He is putrid at the plate - that can’t be legitimately argued. And yes, he is Allstar caliber in the field. But I’d gladly take a slight drop-off defensively for a meaningful uptick offensively…
Anyway, bummer of a loss tonight… Kelly deserved far better.
