Diamondbacks shut out Pirates through 11 innings for win
Diamondbacks pitchers Ryne Nelson, Anthony DeSclafani and Kevin Ginkel shut out the Pirates through 11 innings on Friday evening.
Kelly adding to his trade value inning by inning. May be his last start as a Dback. Hate to see him go, but the Dbacks need to retool and reload.

Yea… the only hope with Kelly, who turns 37 in October, is that he decides to give the team the hometown discount and signs a 2 year deal for $35-$40 million…He is 36. Gallen is 29.
Is it possible McCarthy is faster than Carroll? He made that triple look effortless.
He should get as much work in the bullpen as possible this year and then be given some starts in Spring Training, to really see what he's got. Monty won't/shouldn't be coming back and it shouldn't be too difficult to match or outperform Rodriguez at this point. Even with Rod...a 2nd lefty starter would be awesome.Garcia is the Diamondbacks' 33rd pitcher this year, not including position players.
I think it was actually 1 run in 29 innings - and the run the Dbacks scored was assisted by the "phantom runner on 2nd" rule applied to extra innings games. So, the Dbacks could easily have been shut out in three straight games by the Pie-Rats without that assist. Holy Shizzle! They were extremely lucky to win a game in Pittsburgh. The offense was Pitt-iful -
16 for 98, (.143), 1 run in 28 innings
The offense is just phoning it in now.
