Torey making it very hard to defend him

Alek Thomas is all the runs and Torey pinch hits with fracking Lawlar

And Lawlar predictabily sucks.
Lawlar is SUPPOSED to hit lefties…Most managers would’ve made that switch, especially since Thomas has been putrid all year against lefties.
But man, is it possible Lawlar is regressing? I mean, he certainly wouldn’t have much of a place to regress from, but he’s been super bad over the past 5-6 games.

Lawlar has a .504 ops against lefties before tonight.

Thomas is .596

It's such a stupid manager decision I have no response.

While the Dbacks still have a chance for the playoffs?
Last I’ve heard, Lawlar remains the #1 prospect for this team, and one of the top prospects across all teams.

Lawlar would be on the playoff roster IF somehow this team got there. At some point, the #1 prospect will be relied upon in one or several key situations.

Like just about every other managerial in-game decision, this one is ripe for debate with a case to be made either way.

I can 100% understand a manager seeing an opportunity to have a player who comes with as much fanfare as does Lawlar, to give him that shot to break thru the mental funk he’s been in for far too long…
And I can also understand why you would see it the other way.

Lawlar regressing implies he actually has a history of success in the Majors. He's AAAA, at best...and it sucks to admit.
