The Arizona Cardinals used their first three selections of the 2025 NFL draft on Thursday and Friday on defensive players. With their fourth-round pick, No. 115 overall in the draft, they continued the trend of defensive players.

They selected Ohio State linebacker Cody Simon.

Simon is 6-foot-2 and 229 pounds and played five years for the Buckeyes, helping them win the national championship last season. After three seasons of modest production, he was a big playmaker in 2024, logging 112 total tackle, 13 tackles for loss, seven sacks and seven pass breakups. At his pro day, he ran the 40 in 4.59 seconds, had a 4.30-second short shuttle and 120-inch broad jump.

He was Dane Brugler's No. 11 linebacker in the draft.

He joins a position with an opportunity to potentially compete for a starting job, as the Cardinals signed two linebackers in free agency, but both have been primarily special teams players in their careers.

So the Cardinals have addressed every level of the defense so far — the defensive interior, the defensive edge, the middle of the field with Simon and the defensive backfield.

The Cardinals have the No. 152 pick and No. 225 pick remaining in the draft.
