Koa Peat looks really really really good.

This is the most impressive freshman debut I can recall, for any program, and against top tier competition.
Agree. He was a flat out stud. That one handed flushed alley-oop was shocking.

He opted to lay the ball up a few more times than I would have liked but I loved watching him play. Very impressed by his footwork and controlled physicality, we usually just see that kind of player on the other team.

Peat is kind of the perfect college recruit except apparently they're determined for him to be a one and done. He's sort of a tweener he's an undersized 4, really good college player but probably not big enough, good enough outside shooter to excite NBA scouts. The bit I saw last night he looked great.

Burries is about what i expected, he was an old HS senior who physically overwhelmed guys in HS. In better shape now but he's not really a PG not super quick. He'll do better than last night of course but again a kid who his camp is clear he's a 1 and done and he's probably not good enough to get drafted anywhere near where they expect.

I think both will probably end up staying more than 1 year

Really good win Florida is good again

Koa’s gone at the end of the year, and I think so is Burries. Koa already has an NBA body with talent and Burries is an older freshman.

I think they both WANT to go the question is will the NBA want them? Peat is clearly the better player, my guess is at a combine he won't measure above 6'7"if that. He's really good but he's going to have to develop his outside shot he's just not big enough to do in the NBA what he does in college. I guess we'll see he's really good.
UCLA recruited both but most of us wanted Peat and not Burries because we just didn't see the point in paying that much NIL for Burries. I would much rather have Dent at his crazy NIL than Burries and no Dent but I don't think UCLA was actually ever really in it for Burries it sounds like his dad used UCLA to push up the NIL. He's better than he looked in that game but he's just not athletic enough I think it's highly unlikely he's a first rounder.

We play you guys in 9 days, I sure hope UCLA has figured out its defense by then, the game against EW was like they were doubling the post for no reason and getting killed. If EW could get dunks off that imagine what Peat and Krivas will do if they do the same thing.

Should be a fun game, I hope Dailey is back by then we will need him

I expect to lose, we're just nowhere near Cronin level defense yet. If they double tonight like they did the first 3 games, Peat will get 5 or 6 dunks.
I have no idea, it's not like UCLA has shown us who they are yet. And while the win against Florida wasn't flukish, since we don't really know who Florida is just yet, it's tough to tell how much that really means. Anyway, I figure UA by a zillion but we may not cover.

I think UCLA WILL be good this year, possibly an elite 8 type team but it's a much better offensive team than defense right now which is not a normal Cronin team. They have a fundamental flaw in that the 4 Bilodeau and the 3 Dailey are both poor defenders.

We need 10-15 more games to get the defense dialed in under Mick IMO

Yeah I think I'm going to go ahead and worry about Cronin's defense already without waiting 10 more games - there's plenty of returning upperclass talent on that roster.

Congrats. Great game and Bradley down the stretch was huge.

Dent is our best player but really struggled with the size inside.

Awaka is so good if he could make FT's he'd be your best big

That’s probably a worse loss than a great win. I thought UCLA shut down Bradley and Peat for 90% of the game and lost.

Oh I'm mad at UCLA, Brandon Williams cost us the game with those 2 point blank misses, but I honestly expected a double digit loss UCLA has been bad in all 3 of the first games they played by far their best game.

BTW, Peacock sucks the picture was washed out on both tv and my laptop. Paying for that really bugs me.

A couple guys for each team popped off that you didn’t expect. Tommy benching Koa down the stretch paid off.
