FOXBOROUGH — The New England Patriots have already made a lot of moves this offseason and even into the preseason. But that doesn't mean they are done just yet.
When speaking with reporters before practice on Monday, Patriots' executive vice president of personnel Eliot Wolf was asked if the team could swing for a big trade. There are players such as Washington Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin, Dallas Cowboys defensive end Micah Parsons, and Cincinnati Bengals edge rusher Trey Hendrickson possibly available, so would he be interested?
“Yeah, absolutely. We’re talking to all 31 other teams and trying to do what’s best for us,” Wolf said. “If something presents itself, I think those things are often a lot more complicated than the fans and some others like to make you believe, but if there’s something we think can help us, we’ll definitely be open to it.”
With such high caliber players available, Wolf was then asked if he would be willing to give up a first or second-round pick to make it happen.
“Sure, yup,” Wolf replied, and he was then asked why.
“Just doing what’s best for the team,” he added. “If there’s a player out there we feel can help us, and it cost that, then we would consider doing that.”
