Anybody else notice that this team has another gear that they can put it into when they absolutely have to? When the Suns HAD to win against those very tough teams just prior to clinching the last playoff spot, they were able to play some outstanding basketball. Not simply good...Outstanding! I mean, they won by huge margins against high seed playoff teams.
I don't recall a Suns team having that extra gear in the last 10 years. The other day, I was thinking how they had to win these home games. Now I kind of wonder if this team NEEDS to have it's back against the wall to kick it up a notch. If the refs let them play, the Suns should be able to take these guys. But if it goes to game 7, I don't think the refs will let the Suns win. I never feel like game 7's are even close to fairly officiated. It always seems like the unfavored or small market team's big guy gets in early foul trouble. Granted, the officiating has been horrible so far, but the games were definately winnable for the Suns, despite the officiating.
