Athletes are some of the most superstitious people around. Some of them have routines, and others have full-blown rituals that they will go to great lengths to make sure never get disrupted, especially before games.
Some players will take the same route to home games, some insist on having their pregame meals before home games at the same place and some may get dressed in the same order before and after games.
Former Los Angeles Lakers superstar big man Anthony Davis, who was sent to the Dallas Mavericks in the Feb. 1 trade that brought the Lakers Luka Doncic, described a pregame ritual by a teammate of his he called "the greatest of all-time" and called the routine "weird." He strongly implied it's one that belongs to LeBron James.
This is the exact same pregame ritual that former Miami Heat guard Mario Chalmers once said James has. In fact, according to Chalmers, if someone steps over James' uniform while it's on the floor, the superstar will make his team's equipment manager get him a brand new pair of shorts, tights and socks, plus another jersey and headband.
Perhaps James' most well-known pregame act is when he takes a container of chalk dust at the scorer's table and tosses it into the air. Some believe it is a variation of something Michael Jordan did before games when he would apply chalk dust onto his hands and clap. That action would cause some of the substance to float over into the face of Johnny "Red" Kerr, a former Chicago Bulls coach who was a commentator for their games on television and sat courtside while calling games.

"One guy I know, the greatest of all time, if not the greatest," Davis said. "So once he gets to the arena, (he) takes his entire uniform, from the jersey, the shorts, the socks, the shoes, everything, and lays it on the floor. And no one can touch it. And it's like, it became a thing where you can't even walk over it."
