Rob's as good as gone in 2006. There's no way ASU finishes in the top half of a deeper Pac next year if Ike does go.

Very interesting - Stoudamire and Frye were the big guns for the Cats - and if Adams turns pro as well, it could be a tough season.

DIogu is filing but has no agent yet so he's not completely gone.

Right, just like 2002 was a tough season after Arenas, RJ, Woods, and Mike Wright left? Or 1999 after Bibby, Simon, and Dickerson left?

There will be growing pains but remember, this isn't ASU where players plateau after their freshman years. The overwhelming majority of Arizona players get better during the offseason and regular season so next year we'll see the five freshman who mostly sat the bench improve while bigs like Walters and Ivan continue their rapid progress. The biggest question marks will be whether the light turns on for Rodgers and Shakur as it did for Salim. The Cats won't be a Final 4 contender (not unitl 2006-2007) but they will finish in the upper half of the Pac-10 and make the Tournament again.

A source close to the athletic department confirmed Thursday night that the university is currently in negotiations for a third contract extension with Evans, who has two years remaining on his current deal.

If Evans is extended then that, to me, is definitive proof that ASU has written off their men's basketball program.

Dr. Crow is going to take a much more active role in athleics given the events of the past week or so. Re-upping Coach Evans is a debatable one from a fans stand point, but is very necessary for him to demostrate that he is in charge of the university.

Look, the local TV news stations are tracking down members of the Board of Regents and asking them questions about what's going on in Athletics, that is never a good thing.
