Angel Reese Issues Serious Message to Her Brother After Major Career News originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Chicago Sky selected Angel Reese as the seventh overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft. Things went much differently for her brother, Julian Reese, on Wednesday when it was his turn to enter the NBA Draft.
Julian Reese, who is coming off an outstanding four-year career with Maryland, went undrafted after all 30 teams in the league passed on him in the two rounds of the draft. The 6-foot-9 forward, however, got some major news on Friday after the Los Angeles Lakers decided to sign him as part of their Summer League squad.
Angel Reese could not have been more proud of her brother after this huge turn of events. The Sky star, however, did not hesitate in sending Julian Reese a serious reminder now that he's turning pro.
"proud is an understatement. TIME TO WORK," she captioned her post.
Angel Reese wants her brother to know how proud she is of him. At the same time, she has reminded him that the hard part has now begun.
Julian Reese, who averaged 13.3 points on 55.5% shooting, 9.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.5 blocks per game as a senior for the Terrapins, will be looking to prove himself in the upcoming Summer League. There is no guarantee that he will get a contract to be part of the Lakers' squad for the 2024-25 campaign, but there's no denying that he has a tremendous opportunity ahead of him to try and do so.

Reese will likely team up with Bronny James for the Summer League, as well as second-round pick Adou Thiero from Arkansas. L.A. also signed Eric Dixon of Villanova, RJ Davis of North Carolina, Augustas Marciulionis of Saint Mary's and Arthur Kaluma of Texas, and they, too, could potentially feature in the Summer League alongside Julian Reese.
For her part, Angel Reese would not be where she is today had it not been for the hard work she's put in, and it appears that she will do everything she can to help her brother get on the same path as her.
