Faces off the field gives a deep look into the thoughts and lives of high school student-athletes in the Austin area. Today we feature Weiss golfer Diego Flores, a junior who would like to travel the world and listen to rap music to get hyped.
Tell something about you that most people don't know.
I feel that some people don't know that I am a multiple-sport athlete. I also play on the football team here at Weiss and my dad (Josue Flores) is a football coach and our golf coach. I have been to three (basketball) Final Four championships.
Tell me something on your bucket list.
I would love to travel the world. I've been to Canada and Mexico and a lot of areas within the United States, but I would love to go overseas.

What has been your best vacation?
My favorite vacation has been a trip to Seattle. I love the culture, views, weather and vibe of the area. I am also a fan of seafood.
If you could attend any concert, who would you see?
Kendrick Lamar would be someone that I would love to go see. I like the vibe his music sounds and the stories he tells.
What do you plan to do after you graduate?
I would like to pursue a degree in business and hope to be able to continue playing golf for fun.
What has been your favorite golf memory at Weiss?
In last year's district tournament, we had the opportunity to stay in Waco and had a blast as a team bonding by playing golf, going out to eat and going to Top Golf.
Do you have any pre-round rituals?
Listening to music always gets me hyped up and ready to play. I listen to rap music and sometimes music from the '80s and '90s. Guys like Ice Cube, Naz, Notorious B.I.G. and more.
Has golf taught you any lessons you use in daily life?
Golf is such a mental game that it has taught me a lot about learning to fight adversity and also focus on just being great at the next play, hole, swing, etc.
If you could have dinner with any four people in the history of the world, who would they be?
I would like to invite Adam Sandler, Dana White, Conor McGregor and Kevin James.
Why Conor McGregor?
He looks like he would be a great guy to hang out with and tell stories about his accomplishments as a UFC fighter and businessman.
You're in charge of the meal. What are you serving?
Beef ribs from Franklin Barbecue. They are at the top of the best barbecue places. It's also fun to meet new people from different parts of the world when you're waiting in line.
