On Topic: I presented my wife with a challenge last night--try not to watch the next American Idol. I hate that show, especially when they all sing together and those stupid music video/car commercials. I always find myself shaking my head in disgust after I see it.

Sad as it may be - I got kids from 1-1/2 to 19 and its actually a fun way to get the whole family involved without worrying about violence or foul language. We have fun ripping on the singers and videos and trying to figure out why america voted a certain way. If anything the older ones are learning to see what happens when you don't vote.
on a shorter note - it is a dumb show.
I watched the last 15 minutes to see if Fantasia won, but I boycotted the show after LeToya got voted off. I almost did it when George and Jennifer Hudson were off before Jasmine and Diana...rediculous.

I was happy to see hudson go - the whole diva thing went to her head and she was acting way too smug. America likes nice people and obviously it became a popularity contest. In the end no one remembers who comes in 2nd-100th.Chandler Mike said:

Seriously, there have been about 12 people that are exactly like Latoya on this show in the past three years.
Hudson actually had pipes...her facial expressions were idiotic, but her voice busted loose.
Fantasia winning is a good story for her and her kid...
Diana DiRoboto being anywhere near the top 5 is insulting...what a pageant queen. In fact, this season was really weak. Jon Stevens getting past week 2 was a sham, when by that point everyone knew he was a one-trick pony, and it was a weak trick at best.
I didn't even watch the last two shows...just paid half attention and watched the recaps of the singing. Completely lost my interest when George, Jennifer and yes, even LaToya were gone. Fantasia was the only one with talent left, and I half expected she would lose because America is stupid.
