I hope the next Race is limited to non-celebrities. :D

Unfortunately, we'll soon be "entertained" with the pre-recorded nuptials of Rob and Amber... :barf:

Yawn, you people who are upset about them being in the race are just unbelievable...why do you care?

My neighbor is so upset because they could have had us on there, instead of Romber.

Well, I fully admit, they are 1000 times more entertaining than my neighbor would have been :)

Bah!!!

Go Rob and Amber, first place again by a long shot...

They will win next week...

Great episode tonight!

Mike

I would like to see them win first place without some star-struck local helping them with the clues.....

Who knows if that guy knew who they were anyways, Rob has a way of getting people to help them.

And in past shows, plenty of people have helped just because they see the TV camera's...

They should be in a "Celebrity Amazing Race" or something. Leave this one for the rest of us. :D

Besides, many of us don't like them (or simply aren't rooting for them) because we already KNOW them. The best part of these reality shows is seeing people you don't know and becoming familiar with them through the course of the show and the challenges they have to overcome.

Then there's people like you - anxiously waiting for them to be on Fear Factor, etc. :D

I hate Fear Factor.

Anyways, as Survivor All-Stars showed me, it's fun to ALSO watch people you know from before.

Granted, I understand they've been on two Survivors, and now this...but AR has always had on others, and no one seemed to get so irate about them...

They just don't like Rob because he's cunning and does what it takes to win.

It's a game...he knows the rules and works them in his favor. Hate the game, not the playa :)

The only reality shows I even watch now are AR, Survivor and American Idol .

Part of the Amazing Race that I like so much is the fact that these people have to do their tasks in all parts of the world. It's fun to watch their faces as they visit/pass historic landmarks, etc. Most of them are in awe and realize that unless they win this race they will never see such sights again during their lives. Except the millionaire "celebrity" couple - they could lose one day and be back in any location as soon as they'd like.

I guess it's that, a bit of the overexposure they've gotten plus the fact that Rob is from Boston. :lakerfan=bostonhater: :D

I think what's bugging me is that in every episode now they glom onto some guy who helps them. Now clearly that's not against the rules, but I read in the paper the other day that CBS is being accused now of editing recent episodes so as to NOT show these people saying "are you Rob and Amber from Survivor" because they don't want us to know that the extra help they get every week is a direct result of their Survivor fame.

In other words if Uchena and Joyce with a camera following walk up to some guy in Turkey and he offers to help them, that's one thing, but if that guy walks up to Rob and amber starstruck from Survivor, and helps them, it sort of gives Romber an unfair advantage.

I gotta give it to them they're tremendous at this game although I think Rob made a major error last night with the yield. he should have realized by switching flights they and the other team had a large lead on Uchena and Joyce and Gretchen and Meredith. Knowing that he should have listened to Amber and yielded Uchena and Joyce so that they got eliminated leaving them competing with the older folks at the end, and Kelly.

Romber should have yield U/J - which would have eliminated them.

And even though they didn't show it, it was very clear the guy in London knew who Romber was, and was star-struck.

I don't know about that. I guess it depends on how you want to be - aggressive or cautious. The cautious approach would be to yield U/J. I've been thinking more about it.

Assume that Rob knows they have a +/- 2 hour lead. He knows that one of the last 2 teams will be eliminated. He wants to make certain that he gets to the pitstop #1 with a comfortable lead, so he yields R/K. If he yields U/J, they are eliminated no doubt, but they had a 50/50 chance of being eliminated anyways.

By yielding R/K, they are guaranteed a a large cushion going into the pitstop & a nice lead going into the backstretch.

But if TAR holds to form, the big lead would evaporate on the next flight.....

Next leg has to be a non-elim, anyways.

Yep, as it is now they're competing with 2 strong teams, if they'd gotten U/J out they would be competing with one strong team. Let's face it if it's even close at the end Meredith and Gretchen were going to lose a footrace.

True, they guaranteed themselves a nice prize by being first. But I'd bet anything that the next leg will have one of those situations where Rob and Amber are stuck waiting 8 hours for something to open or some flight and the other 2 teams catchup. They always create a scenario where the final 3 teams are as close as possible in the final episode.

Maybe, but I remember a lot of finishes where a team was over 8 hours behind at one point...forgot why, but it was the one where Chip and Reichen one...

at the end yes but I'd bet anything that at some point in the next episode all 3 teams are on a bus or train or plane together or camped outside some local attraction waiting for it to open. TAR does it every year.

TAR the first 2 seasons had some crazy scenario where the final destination(first year it was New York I think) happened to be the home town of 1 of the teams, I remember the first year the home team still lost, the 2nd year they won. I remember the host on some latenight show admitting that with all the planning they do it seemed odd that they would make it possible for any of the teams to end up on their home turf at the end.

So I'm guessing this year we wind up on a Boston construction site :D
