Another CD that I listened to over and over again in the mid 90s. Not a track that I would skip over, I could easily listen to this straight thru each time.

I guess this was their third album, but this was the one that put them on the top of the charts, got them invited to Woodstock with memorable images of people throwing mud on them.

The music is usually high energy with outstanding drumming by Tre Cool. The most popular songs that got MTV airplay (back when they actually aired videos) were "Longview" and "When I come around", although my favorites are probably "She" and "Welcome to Paradise".

This c.d. brings back several memories of my Junior and Senior year in HS...
I'll never forget the first time I heard "Longview" and then later when "Basket Case" and Welcome To Paradise" came out.... Also, all their videos were quite hilarious for "Dookie"...

I was concerned that they were beginning to sell out with the release of "Nimrod" (especially with "Good Riddance":Time Of Your Life", but they bounced back brilliantly with "Warning".....

My favorite Green Day songs are "Geek Stink Breath" and "Brainstew" (from "Insomniac").....

"Dookie" is definitely a good a selection, especially since it was a c.d. that aided in reviving the punk movement and inspired many bands that came out during and after that period....

This just brought up all those old memories of having to get a hall pass.
