Kalen DeBoer and the Alabama Crimson Tide have added another big recruit from the class of 2026.

Four-star offensive lineman Samuelu Utu (Orange Lutheran High School, California) committed to Alabama on Monday during an interview with On3. He chose the Crimson Tide over offers from Texas, Tennessee, SMU, Washington and others.

247Sports lists Utu as the No. 7 interior offensive lineman and the No. 102 overall player in their player ratings for the class of 2026. In their composite recruiting rankings, the 6-foot-5, 330-pound lineman is No. 176 overall and the No. 11 interior offensive lineman in the 2026 class.

Discussing his decision to commit to Alabama, Utu told On3's Chad Simmons:

"Football-wise, the offensive scheme fits my style of play -- a lot of counter, screens, and inside/outside zone. Coach Grubb is an amazing coach and an even better person. He made me comfortable while learning new techniques and terminology. I know what I’m stepping into and how well they’ll prepare me for the next phase of my football career."

Utu joins fellow four-star offensive lineman Chris Booker (Atlanta), four-star cornerbacks Jorden Edmonds (Marietta, Ga.) and Zyan Gibson (Gadsden, Ala.), EDGE Jamarion Matthews (Gainesville, Ga.), and defensive lineman Kamhariyan Johnson (Muscle Shoals) in Alabama's 2026 class.
