McLUNEY — Freshman pitcher Elyse Baker held visiting Meadowbrook down for five innings on Thursday.

Then Addy Wiggins made the most of the Colts' only rally, launching a three-run homer in the top of the sixth inning that made the difference in a 3-2 win in a Muskingum Valley League-Small School Division showdown.

Meadowbrook (17-4, 10-3 MVL-Small), which swept the season series with the Ceramics, moved two games in front of Crooksville (15-5, 8-5) and West M (14-8, 10-5) in the loss column in the division.

Paige Frame gave Crooksville a 2-0 lead with a two-run single in the fourth, one of only four Ceramic hits of Colts right-hander Addy Sichina.

Sichina, who went the distance, struck out nine and didn't walk a batter; Baker, who also had a four-hitter, chalked up eight strikeouts with one walk.
