After finishing 10-7 and making the playoffs, no one expected the Pittsburgh Steelers to basically blow up the roster in the offseason, starting from scratch at multiple positions. This means we are bracing for some great position battles during training camp with starting spots on the line. Here are the five we are most looking forward to.

Starting quarterback

If the Steelers do not add Aaron Rodgers or some other veteran, Mason Rudolph and rookie Will Howard should start camp on equal footing to be the starter. Rudolph has some starter experience but the upside of Howard makes him a viable option to add some punch to the offense.

Starting running back

Similar to quarterback, the veteran in place is going to get pushed by a rookie. Jaylen Warren is the starter on paper based on experience but there's no denying that Kaleb Johnson has far more upside.

Starting wide receiver

Now that the Steelers have shipped off George Pickens, the competition is wide open to start alongside with DK Metcalf. Robert Woods, Calvin Austin III, and Roman Wilson can all make a case to start, even if none of the options are ideal.

Starting slot cornerback

The outside cornerbacks are set with Joey Porter Jr. and Darius Slay but the competition for the slot cornerback is wide open. Despite Beanie Bishop playing well as a rookie, it feels like he has no hold on the starting job and with veteran Brandin Echols and rookie Donte Kent knowing that, could beat him out.
