Scottie Scheffler won the 2025 PGA Championship a year after making headlines for his arrest during the 2024 PGA Championship in Louisville.

Nike shared an ad to X, formerly Twitter, congratulating Scheffler on his 2025 PGA Championship win that seems to lightly poke fun at his arrest at the 2024 PGA Champsionship last year in Louisville.
The post reads: "Best player in the world? Guilty."
Scheffler was arrested trying to get into Valhalla on May 17, 2024. A fatal accident caused traffic to halt before the second round of the PGA Championship. Trouble started for Scheffler when he switched lanes to avoid the traffic and get to his tee time.
According to the citation, "(Scheffler) refused to comply and accelerated forward, dragging Detective (Bryan) Gillis to the ground. Detective Gillis suffered pain, swelling, and abrasions to his left wrist and knee."

Scheffler was detained at 6:20 a.m. and booked into Metro Corrections at 7:28 a.m. He returned to Valhalla a little after 9 a.m. Roughly an hour later, he teed off in the second round of the major.
