The Arizona Cardinals, now 3-10 on the season, are scheduled to have a top-10 pick in the 2026 NFL draft. As of this week, they would own the eighth overall pick, and they have a number of needs.
With quarterback Kyler Murray likely going elsewhere this offseason, will they be able to draft a quarterback? They also have major needs on the offensive line.
But in a new 2026 mock draft from Draft Wire's Curt Popejoy, the Cardinals select a skill player.
With the eighth overall pick, the Cardinals go with a local player — Arizona State receiver Jordyn Tyson.
Tyson is an incredibly skilled pass catcher who has great hands, runs incredible routes and finds the end zone.
However, he comes with injury concerns. Once everything is said and done, he likely will not be a top-10 pick in the draft.
And as for the Cardinals, it would be foolish to take another receiver in the top 10 when they don't even have enough touches in their current offensive scheme for both Marvin Harrison Jr. and Michael Wilson. The passing game goes through tight end Trey McBride, whoever is playing the 'X' at receiver and then checkdowns to the running backs.
With Wilson's production in Harrison's absence, it is clear that the passing production problems are not a player issue. They are a scheme issue.
If we are expecting anything from the Cardinals in the first round, we should expect a player from the SEC or Big Ten.
