LAGHEZZA'S LEAN:

Honestly, schedule makers did their part in keeping this division closer than I originally projected. It's not exactly 8-D analysis, but in such a small 17-game sample where one game can swing your entire fate, competition matters... a lot.

For starters, everyone gets a boost toward eclipsing their win total by facing the NFC South (IND, JAX, TEN, HOU). Beyond that, this one's become too hard to plant a flag on due to the disparate parts of the schedule blurring the edges.

My initial projected favorite, the Rams are listed at the second best price (+195) — so why haven't I run to the window and bet them already? Because LAR drew the short straw from the NFC East/NFC North/AFC North grab bag with the Eagles, Lions, and Ravens respectively. Ouch. Compare that to San Fran who gets the Giants, Bears, and Browns and that edge completely disappears along those margins.
