The Los Angeles Rams have a few questions that need to be answered in the 2025 NFL Draft.
The big ones revolve around defensive depth, namely at cornerback and linebacker. Those are two of the Rams' weakest positions that should be addressed in the draft. Receiver, offensive line and defensive line are also on the table for additional help. The most intriguing question, though, will be if the Rams draft a quarterback at some point to either develop as a long-term starter or someone who could takeover for Matthew Stafford in a year or two.
It's impossible to know the answers to these questions until after the draft is over, but The 33rd Team's Kyle Crabbs put together a seven-round mock draft with his predictions for each team. The Rams ran the gamut of positions in Crabbs' mock and added two linebackers, an edge rusher, a cornerback, a tight end, an offensive lineman, a receiver and a quarterback.
Here's how the Rams' eight picks went in this mock draft:
Starting and ending the draft with linebackers is a great starting point here. Schwesinger is one of the top prospects at the position and could push Omar Speights or Nate Landman as a starter, and Kiser is an experienced an productive player. The sixth round is a little late for a cornerback, but the Rams may trust their 2024 quartet again this year.
The wildest picks come in Round 3, with the highly-touted Shough being picked with the Rams' second selection and Felton going 11 picks later.
Shough is one of the oldest and most experience players in the class and finished up a solid season at Louisville where he threw for 3,195 yards, 23 touchdowns and six interceptions. He fits the build as a Stafford-esque quarterback who would get a year or two to sit and learn the Sean McVay offense.
Felton, meanwhile, is a fast wideout how had 96 receptions for 1,124 yards and nine touchdowns in 2024. He's quick, but small at 6-foot-2 and only 186 pounds. Felton would push Tutu Atwell and Jordan Whittington for snaps, but might be relegated to fifth on the receiver depth chart if he can't breakout in training camp.
This class wouldn't be bad, but it doesn't feature a dynamic addition that completely alters the trajectory of this team from potential to contender to probable one. However, these picks are good long-term bets that could keep the Rams roster whole for a few more years.
