And seeing the future. Sure, you can evaluate them to the best of your ability but there is no way to know for sure. Just look at every draft ever. There are busts and there are finds. It's like the stock market. No analyst is picking 100% over time.

One can evaluate skills, speed, defense, shooting, rebounding, measurements and such. It's usually a good indicator.

IMO, there is a lot of depth to this draft, although short on top names.

Question.

Do you want to see a package and move up or do you want to draft by volume?

The Suns don't need to move up to get what they want in this draft.

They can probably move down and get the same quality of player.

If this were on the table, I want it.

If that was real, yeah you probably do that. Not sure we need that old of players really, but that is a pretty quality return - which makes me doubt they would do that.

That's as much of a homer trade proposal as I've ever seen. It'd still do it if we gave up #29 and basically ALL the second rounders we got from the KD trade but Brooklyn would just laugh.

Yeah, but it gets the adrenaline flowing.

I think the proposed trade is more of an eye-catcher than anything else. I'm missing that Finals team.

Moving down to 22 to get rid of Beal is dang tempting but I don't think anything but 2nd rounders should be involved in any move of Beal. Maybe that is not realistic but I am saying it anyway.

In principle, I agree, but this proposal also includes 2 starters. That's more than worth the downgrade to 22. Again, not realistic though so probably not worth arguing over.

Beal's contract is such a liability, the Suns would be lucky if the Nets considered it.

I figure Cam Johnson's value is two first round picks.

Valid point. Plus the #10 is going to be a crap shoot anyway. I think I would still prefer the Suns to package and move up if there is someone they really are sold on. Just not sure they are sold on anyone.

Take this and run. Would take the sting off of a lot of the current situation and sets up a nice foundation to work with.

nets have 5 first round picks - they could draft and start a team of first rounders - let'em grow and suck terribly for a season - discard the misses or move them to the bench rinse and repeat - don't just get under the apron get under the blouse - promote ageism - nobody over 35

That deal is not even feasible under current CBA rule, Claxton and CamJ's salaries together is higher than Beal's, we'd have to throw in another player which is infeasble above 2nd apron. It'd be like some 3-team deal combined with the KD deal, that resulted in us getting under 2nd apron at the same time. That said, I think both are also slightly overpaid players, and I'd also ask for their 19th instead of 22nd and probably one of their later picks.

Not that it's gospel, but ESPN's trade machine says it's possible. I think it's still using 2024/25 salaries, so maybe this breaks when it switches over?

Late punditry has the Suns taking Bryant at 10, and Richardson at 29 (if either are there).

Lord, I hope not. That is a worst possible outcome in my book. Both have bust written all over them, and at best, neither fits any need we have. So buckling up for further stupidity from this stupidest of franchises.

This one is better https://fanspo.com/nba/trade-machine.

We can actually trade Beal straight up for Johnson(moneywise) provided they decline cap holds on Russell and another player like Melton.

Late to the party on this one but I would do that in a heartbeat.

I can live better with a late miss in the draft than an early miss. Hopefully the Suns have done their work in the film room.

If not, they would be better off trading the 10th pick.

Honestly, I have no prediction as to what they will do, given the current braintrust. It could very well range from reasonable to the most idiotic thing imaginable, and I would not be surprised either way.
